Three Ways I'm Using Summer Tomatoes Right Now

Hi there,

Tomato season is one of the highlights of summer. Whether you're bringing home heirlooms from the farmers' market or cherry tomatoes from your garden, this is the time of year when simple recipes really shine.

Here are three of my favorite ways to enjoy them while they're at their best!

Burrata Bruschetta with Peaches & Tomatoes - Sweet, juicy peaches, ripe tomatoes, creamy burrata, and fresh basil come together on toasted or grilled crostini for an appetizer that tastes like summer on a plate. It's simple enough for a weeknight but elegant enough for your next dinner with friends.

Burrata Caprese Salad — Peak-season heirloom tomatoes are the star of this fresh summer salad, paired with creamy burrata, fragrant basil, good olive oil, and my favorite twist—a sprinkle of finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes for an extra layer of savory flavor. It's simple, elegant, and perfect alongside anything on the grill.

Creamy Tomato Orzo — This one-pan dinner transforms fresh summer tomatoes into a silky, herb-infused sauce that coats every bite of tender orzo. Finished with Parmesan, cream, and fresh basil, it's an easy restaurant-inspired meal that makes the most of peak tomato season.

🍁 One Thing I've Learned
Let great ingredients stay the star.
When tomatoes are perfectly ripe, they don't need much. A drizzle of good olive oil, fresh herbs, creamy cheese, or a splash of balsamic is often all it takes to bring out their best. Instead of adding more ingredients, focus on choosing ones that complement their natural flavor.

Happy cooking!

P.S. If one of these recipes makes it to your table, I'd love to hear about it! Leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating and a quick comment on the recipe—it helps more readers find it, and it's one of the best ways you can support Maplevine Kitchen.

July 15, 2026 Hi there, You know those restaurant dishes that you order every single time because they're just that good? Chicken (Pollo) al Limone, an Italian-style lemon chicken dish, was always one of those for me. During my years working in Italian-American restaurants, I came to appreciate how a handful of simple ingredients could create something so memorable. My version stays true to that bright, buttery classic, with one small Maplevine Kitchen twist: a touch of Parmesan in the flour...

July 8, 2026 Hi friends, Have you ever gone to the farmers market for one thing... and somehow left with tomatoes, peaches, corn, berries, basil, zucchini, and absolutely zero regrets? Same. July is hands down one of my favorite months to cook (and to eat!). The produce is doing all the heavy lifting, and it doesn't take much to turn a market haul into something that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen. 🛒 This Month I'm Bringing Home 🍅 Heirloom tomatoes 🌽 Sweet corn 🫐 Summer berries 🍑...
